Run-Off Election - TODAY!

Hello Friends,

Please remember to participate in today’s run-off election.   The turnout for run-off elections is typically much less than for a primary, so I would like to ask everyone to show your support at the polls today.  With low voter turnout, each vote is critical. We need everyone’s help in reminding people to vote -  please encourage your Fayette County family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to participate in the electoral process.

A few notes: You CAN vote in the run-off election even if you DID NOT vote during the July 15th primary.  Since the two races (County Commissioner & Probate Judge) are for Republican candidates, you will be unable to vote if you pulled a Democratic ballot on the 15th.

My heartfelt thanks to all who have who have showed their support during the campaign!  It will truly be my honor and privilege to bring my skills and knowledge in probate matters to the the position of Probate Judge.

I look forward to receiving your support at the polls!

 Thanks,

Ann Jackson

Primary Results Are In - Thank You For Your Support!!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

The Jackson for Fayette Probate Judge campaign had a great showing in the July 15 primary!  Thanks to you, we  received nearly 40% of the vote which means there will be a runoff between myself and Jim Whitlock who received 31% of the vote.  My heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who helped us, and to those who will help in this final round The runoff election is scheduled for August 5th, and we are doing our best to get as many voters as we can back out to the polls.  We need your help now more than ever!  Runoff elections typically have lower voter turnout than the primary, so we must encourage everyone to vote on August 5th, vote early, or vote with an absentee ballot.  Every vote counts - especially in this runoff!

I believe voters have chosen to support me because of my qualifications, experience in the field, and their confidence that I am best suited to serve the citizens of Fayette County.  It will be my honor and privilege to bring my skills and knowledge in probate matters to the the position of Probate Judge. We need everyone’s help in reminding people to vote on August 5th  - please tell your Fayette County family, friends, neighbors and coworkers that I will work hard and professionally for them if I am elected.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ann@annjackson.org or 678-215-6465.

Please remember to vote on August 5th, and I look forward to receiving your support at the polls!

 Thanks,

Welcome to our Website!

Dear Friends,

I am very happy to launch this website to introduce myself, and to give you a little insight into my personal qualifications for Judge of the Probate Court of Fayette County. With the retirement this year of Judge Stephenson and my eligibility to retire from 25 years in the Fulton County Probate Court, it seems an ideal time for me to bring my experience and enthusiasm for the job home, to the service of my own county.

During my 25 years in the Probate Court, I have served in virtually every supervisory- and management-level capacity. It was my good fortune to work most of those years at the hand of one of the most highly regarded probate judges in the entire nation in the Honorable Floyd Propst, former president of the National College of Probate Judges. On Judge Propst’s retirement some six years ago, I was appointed Judicial Hearing Officer by the current judge, Honorable Pinkie Toomer. I have served on the bench since that appointment, presiding over more than 500 Probate Court cases. As I am the only candidate to have such experience, I am uniquely qualified to serve the Probate Court and the people of Fayette County.

I have also experienced firsthand what a family goes through when a loved one dies or is incapacitated and the family find themselves involved in the Probate Court. I am very sensitive to the trauma that families often suffer as they grieve a loved one while going through a necessary court process they may not be prepared to face. I know that we cannot make everything better for an aggrieved family, but I am determined to run a court that will not, itself, become an inordinate part of the family’s burden.

Please consider carefully the role that the Fayette County Probate Court will inevitably play in the lives of you and others in years to come. I am listing links to other information that I hope will be of value and of interest to you. It will give you a brief overview of the court, some of the many functions of the court such as administrations, guardianships, firearms permits, marriage licenses, passports and many more. It is incumbent upon the judge that the court run efficiently, that ‘routine’ matters are handled expeditiously and as possible, and above all, that officers of the court are good stewards of the public trust and funds, and are courteously responsive to the public needs.

To this end, I am committed to faithfully serve the people of Fayette County. My husband, Charles, and our three children – all three Starr’s Mill graduates – believe that I am the most qualified and the best suited candidate for Probate Judge of Fayette County. We also believe that after your careful consideration, you will feel the same way.

Please support me with your vote on July 15, 2008. Your campaign support is also welcome and needed.  Please call me or email me to see how you can help.

Thanks,

Ann Jackson
